This past weekend I participated in Dance Marathon 2014 at my school, Florida International University.
Dance Marathon is a 17 hour event that is held in the recreation center of Florida International University and it is entirely student run as well as 100% of the funds going directly to Miami Children’s Network Hospitals program at the Miami Children’s Hospital Foundation.
During those 17 hours dancers(in order to become a “dancer,” the participant must raise a minimum of $130) participate in a variety of fun activities and “miracle children,” visit to tell their story. The slogan for dance marathon is FTK or “For the Kids!”
Dance Marathon is both physically and mentally challenging, but at the end of the day it is fulfilling to know that you are doing it for a good cause and something bigger than yourself.
