Ford Motor Company has a program called Ford Driving Skills for Life (DSFL). It consists of a new piece of wearable technology or a “drunk suit” which features goggles to impair vision which causes disorientation, weights to impair reflexes and reaction time, and headphones to impair hearing.
I went to one of the events where they did a simulation of this drunk suit. It is a great educational program to bring awareness on the dangers of drunk driving since car accidents are the leading cause of death in teens. I thought it was pretty cool that a company such as Ford is doing something like this because you can tell someone not to do something and they will not listen. But if you have a real demonstration and replicate how someone will feel impaired it will open their eyes.
I had the chance to try on the vision impairing glasses and goggles which made everything distorted and blurry. Definitely effective in showing how badly alcohol can damage your vital senses.
